Inflatable Packers
The inflatable packers may be expanded either pneumatically or hydraulically
The inflatable packers may be expanded either pneumatically or hydraulically by the use of compressed air, inert gas or water. The steel wire reinforced inflatable element expands beyond 2 times its original diameter.
The inflatable packers are suitable:
- for grout injections and pumping tests in deep bore holes, where the time consuming installation is eliminated
- in case of abrasive and fractured rocks to permit uniform expansion of the rubber sleeve following the contours of the borehole until the required diameter is reached
- when maximum working pressure and wear resistance should achieve very high values.
Standard sealing lengthes for single or double packers are 500 and 1.000 mm.
